The Songge Mani Stone Mound

Finally back to China and the Tibetan areas (May/June 2023) It was January 2020, when I suddenly had to return home early from my travel in Tibet. The Corona pandemic had started in China and the country got locked. I had the last KLM flight from Chengdu to Amsterdam. Lucky me. I took more than 3 years before I could return. In January 2016 I travelled again in Tibet. And I was very lucky to be able to witness a very special, rare ceremony at Sera Monastery. The ceremony was for a monk who had passed the highest debating examinations and became a high lama. Right now I’m working on the photos I made of this ceremony.
